The increasing interest in wellbeing in education is driven by two main reasons: a) the large amount of robust research indicating various benefits associated with higher levels of wellbeing and b) preliminary research suggesting that aspects of wellbeing and resilience can be taught.
Life Skills Group has spent 12 years partnering with primary schools teaching and measuring wellbeing. Our experience has shown us that whole school wellbeing practices are the most effective when wellbeing is explicitly taught with regular assessment and evaluation of progress.
Our partner schools have found that a wellbeing focus can result in significant improvements across student attendance, engagement and overall wellbeing. Lalor Park Public School (NSW) has found improvements in student wellbeing through embedding wellbeing practices across all levels of the school. Athol Road Primary School (VIC) has seen success in delivering their whole school wellbeing framework through the blended online learning lessons and measurement provided by Life Skills GO.
