This Privacy Policy applies to the services offered by Life Skills Group (ABN 35 111 623 128) and Life Skills Group Online (ABN 76 623 792 085 ) and its affiliated entities.

Life Skills Group Online is committed to safeguarding personal privacy. It recognises that individuals have a right to control how their personal information is collected and used. Providing personal information is an act of trust and it is taken seriously. Unless given consent to do otherwise, the Company will only collect and use personal information as set out below.
1. Personal Information
Life Skills Group Online will not collect or monitor any personal information about an individual without their consent. The only personal information collected is what has been provided voluntarily. When providing this personal information, the user consents to this data being used for items outlined below.
Life Skills Group Online does not sell personal information. Personal information will be used for the following primary purposes:
- To fulfil obligations under any sale and purchase contract and/or any other contract between the individual and the Company.
- To render services related to Life Skills Group Online’s business such as warranty or after sales services.
For the purposes described above, information provided to Life Skills Group Online is used to operate, provide and improve the Life Skills GO service. In addition, Life Skills GO shares minimal information with third parties (Appendix A) in order to provide certain key functionality or features. Any information shared is the minimum required for the third party to provide their service on behalf of us, and all third party providers are selected based on their respective privacy policies and treatment of user data.
When providing assistance in the implementation of our products and services at an organisation/school, we reserve the right to contact school staff/participants during that implementation. During the implementation we may also receive the contact details of other school staff that need further assistance.
2. Contact by Life Skills Group Online
Life Skills Group Online may contact individuals using the information which was provided by them in order to:
1.Provide information that may be of interest about upgrades, new Company products, special offers and other matters that may be of interest.
2.To send newsletters.
3. Life Skills GO - Personal Information
3.1 For School Staff / Administrators
We collect your name, email address and class name(s).
3.2 For Students
We collect students' names, year level and class name(s).
We also collect information about students’ wellbeing in the form of an emotion check-in. This asks students to answer the question “How are you feeling?”. This data is then fed back to the school staff in order to help support the student. Other information collected and stored includes students lesson activities and teachers observations.
4. Google SSO
4.1 For Teachers
If you decide to register for Life Skills GO using your Google Account, we will request your Google profile information using OpenId Connect and basic profile information such as your first name, last name, email address and profile icon in order to identify you in our application. The information provided is used for authentication purposes only and the authentication id provided by Google is stored in association with your registration to improve your sign-in experience. We will not sell or share data provided by Google about you to advertisers or engage in targeted advertising. Here is the link for Google Privacy and Terms for your reference.
4.2 For Students
Students are able to link their Life Skills GO student account with their Google Account for SSO. When a student chooses to login through their Google account, they are required to link their Google Account with their Life Skills GO account for the first time. Through OpenID Connect, Life Skills GO requests basic profile information from Google including their user id, name and email address, however, only the user id is sent from the browser to be processed and saved against their Life Skills GO account for the purpose of authentication thereon. Life Skills GO neither processes nor saves the email address, name or password associated with the Google account of the student. Here is the link for Google Privacy and Terms for your reference.
5. Tracking Technology
Life Skills Group Online uses tracking technologies such as cookies or web beacons to make use of the Website and services as convenient as possible. Cookies are pieces of information that a Website transfers to a computer's hard disk for record keeping purposes. Most web browsers are set to accept tracking technologies such as cookies or web beacons. Life Skills Group Online uses cookies to recognise you when you visit the platform, authenticate and keep track of whether you are signed in or not.
6. What Life Skills Group Online does with personal information
Life Skills Group Online may use personal information you provide for the following purposes:
- To maintain a record of your student wellbeing check-ins
- To provide the organisation/school with data pertaining to student activity on Life Skills GO
- To allow you to contact us if needed
- To offer technical or other logistical support to school staff/administrators such as password resets and platform invitations
- To fulfil obligations under any sale and purchase contract and/or any other contract between the individual and the Company
- To render services related to Life Skills Group Online’s business such as warranty or after sales services.
- To send school usage reports that contain aggregated data
- To perform quality assurance on the system (for example to ensure participant data is migrated correctly during major system upgrades)
Life Skills Group Online may also use de-identified information to conduct and publish research related to education and wellbeing. Research may be undertaken by 3rd party research institutions such as universities or state governments. Where a teacher is identified as a potential candidate for such research, the school and teacher are contacted to seek permission to include them in any research undertaken.
7. Storage and Processing of Personal Information
Life Skills Group Online is committed to protecting the security of your Personal Information. We (and our third party service providers) use a variety of industry-standard security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorised access, use, or disclosure. However no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure.
All data is password protected and encrypted where appropriate. The data is protected with system safeguards that are equal to the sensitivity of the data.
Life Skills Group Online works with the third party service providers set out in Appendix B. We share or provide information to these third parties to the extent required to deliver our services. These providers have limited access to your personal information to perform tasks on our behalf, and are contractually bound to protect and use it only for the purpose for which it was disclosed and consistent with this Privacy Policy.
8. Links to External Sites
Life Skills Group Online provides links to two external Websites outside of the Life Skills Group Online site. These are the Life Skills Group Website (an affiliate company of Life Skills Group Online) and AWS hosted domains. Life Skills Group Online is not responsible for, nor has control over any content or links provided by these external sites.
9. Sharing Personal Information
Except where stated above, or as required by legislation, court order or subpoena, Life Skills Group Online does not share personal information with third parties.
10. Data Access Requests
Users can request to provide, correct or delete their personal information lodged via an email to support@lifeskillsgroup.com.au. Depending on the nature of the request we may require the requestor to provide verification of their identity, and/or be an authorised agent of their school.
We collect data on behalf of our schools. Any request to delete personal information must be made via their school, and we will delete the data as requested.
Users, or parents/guardians of users can request that Life Skills Group Online discontinue collecting that users data, however Life Skills Group will only act on requests coming from an authorised representative of the school. At this point, the user account will be disabled.
11.Data Breaches
If Life Skills Group Online becomes aware of a security breach by an unauthorised party or if any data was used for an unauthorized purpose, we will take the appropriate steps to comply with relevant state and other data breach laws. We will notify users via their school of any breach resulting in unauthorized release of data electronically, at minimum, and without unreasonable delay so that you can take appropriate steps. The notification will include: date of the breach, the types of information that were subject to the breach, general description of what occurred, and steps Life Skills Group Online is taking to address the breach.
12.Retention of information
We will retain and use your personal information for the period necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. We may use any aggregated data derived from or incorporating your personal information after you update or delete it, but not in a manner that would identify you personally. We may also use any de-identified information provided to our systems. Once the retention period expires, personal information shall be deleted. Therefore, the right to access, the right to erasure, the right to rectification and the right to data portability cannot be enforced after the expiration of the retention period.
13. Problems or queries
Queries relating to the Privacy Policy, or any problems or complaints may be directed to the Company on support@lifeskillsgroup.com.au.
You may request deletion of your Personal Information by contacting us at support@lifeskillsgroup.com.au, but please note that we may be legally required to keep this information for a period of time. In some cases, Life Skills Group Online may require the user to provide proof of identity before information is changed or deleted.
14. Individual's right of access
Individuals have the right to review the information that may be recorded on the Company’s database. Information may be reviewed by contacting the Company on support@lifeskillsgroup.com.au
15.Updates to the Policy
This Privacy Policy will be reviewed from time to time to take account of new laws and technology, changes to our operations and practices and the changing business environment.
In the event of a change that would reduce your rights or increase your risks we will inform you of that change through email to the primary contact for your school/organisation.
We encourage all users to review this policy regularly to stay informed of any changes or updates to this document.
Appendix A - Security Practices
Life Skills GO protects your personal information using a number of industry standard security practices. This is including but not limited to:
- Encryption of your data when it is in transit using TLS (the replacement for SSL) encryption.
- Encryption of your data when it is at rest (i.e. stored within our database) using encryption provided by the AWS RDS service in conjunction with AWS KMS service. This encryption is at least the minimum recommended industry standard.
- Data processing and storage happens on servers that are physically located in secure locations with redundant storage. All of our third party cloud providers are selected based on their ability to guarantee that your data will be processed in compliance with our privacy policy, as well as be highly available. In particular,
- We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for all application services (servers, databases etc.), hosted in Sydney, Australia.
- We use other cloud-based services (e.g. Slack, Google, Atlassian Products) that are secure but may be hosted in regions other than Australia.
- Life Skills GO staff may access personal information only if they require access to the data for the execution of their duties. Such access is limited to the smallest number of employees possible, and access is revoked when duties change.
- Life Skills GO conducts background checks (criminal history check) on all employees who have access to student data, and all employees are required to hold a current Working With Children Check.
- Life Skills GO conducts regular, independent, security audits and assessments, as well as utilising automated tools for the same.
